Brazos Valley Food Bank

Designated Charity of The 2008 Fall Bridal Show and Benefit

Fostering partnerships to feed hope, the Brazos Valley Food Bank solicits, collects, sorts and safely stores donated food to distribute through 45 different partner agencies in Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Madison, Robertson and Washington Counties.  Close to 2 million pounds of food nourishes over 29,000 unduplicated neighbors in need throughout the Brazos Valley each year.

In addition to its food distribution program, the Brazos Valley Food Bank operates three other hunger-relief programs.  Its Backpack Program, operating in seven Bryan-College Station schools and soon in Navasota and Madisonville, provides food for children over the weekend in a backpack discreetly distributed on Fridays throughout the school year.  Its Senior Outreach Program is a partnership with Meals on Wheels that provides 100 of its most needy seniors with bags of easy to prepare, nutritious food that can supplement their daily, hot meal.  The Brazos Valley Food Bank also distributes Family Boxes directly to individuals in need when a local pantry is not open.

The American Red Cross - Brazos Valley Branch

Designated Charity of The 2008 Spring Bridal Show and Benefit

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by it congressional charter and the Fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement, provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

The Bridal Association of the Brazos Valley recognizes the American Red Cross and its essential humanitarian role in our community. This year, as we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the American Red Cross in the Brazos Valley, we honor its contribution to making Brazos, Burleson, Leon, Madison, and Robertson Counties stronger, safer and healthier.

The Red Cross in the Brazos Valley has been the place where compassionate people freely give their time and talent to help prevent and ease human suffering among friends, neighbors and even strangers.

Our residents make contributions to fund the cost of providing immediate relief to victims of disasters, such as house fires and hurricanes, and volunteer their time to help those in need.

The Brazos Valley Branch responds to local emergencies, assists military families and trains people in lifesaving skills such as CPR and first aid. Red Cross volunteers are there to bring aid, information and just as importantly, comfort. To the Red Cross, there are no “small disasters,” only neighbors in need.

The Brazos Valley Branch – and its volunteers and donors – provide valuable tools and education to individuals, families, workplaces and schools, making us all stronger and more resilient.

The American Red Cross, always there…touching more lives, in new ways…under the same trusted symbol.

When we help the American Red Cross, we help each other.
