The Astin Mansion was built in 1924 by Roger Q. and Nina Heard Astin. A Paragon of the grand Nineteen-twenties style, this architectual gem is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is now offered to the public for meetings, weddings, conferences and special events with limited guest quarters available by reservation. Compass Ministries hosts a 6-week seminar on building a lasting marriage for engaged or nearly engaged couples. Classes are held at First Baptist Church in Bryan and meet on Monday nights, beginning March 22, from 7:00-8:15pm. Topics include: Family Baggage, Intimacy, Sexual Issues, and Finances.
